Development as Freedom

By Amartya Sen

First of all, thanks to Ashish for letting me borrow this book. For a long time I have been
longing to get my hands on Amartya Sens books, and in the same effort I had read Argumentative Indian last year which left me impressed by his style and viepoint, but it was not a book related to economics.

So here it is, Development as Freedom. I cant wait to finish reading this book. Although I do not have basics in economics, I have felt no difficulty untill now. I must say that I have come across this book at the right time in my life. I have been very actively thinking of so many things that are so visibly wrong in India, and I always wondered what is the solution to it. I believe, it is no point identifying a problme alone. The real value lies in finding the solution to it. I think this book will help me understand the problem in a more systematic and educated manner and possibly help me with the solution, or atleast a part of it.

Let the quest begin.
